Administration
Trained staff rate the prescribed current dynamic factors using recent ward observation and the service’s repeated-assessment process.
Scoring method
Dynamic observed factors counted; select adult or youth edition.
Interpretation & limitations
- Use findings to inform an individualized clinical review and prevention plan within the intended short-term setting.
- Interpret the findings alongside the clinical interview, functioning, history and relevant physical assessment.
- Adult and youth versions are distinct. No score guarantees nonviolence or automatically selects restraint, seclusion or observation levels.
- Use the original instrument and manual for item wording, rating anchors, missing-data rules and any normative conversions. This reference does not establish a diagnosis or select treatment.
